As we embark on another exciting year at the Academy of General Practice Orthodontics (AGpO), it’s a great time to reflect on our community, our shared goals and the incredible opportunities that lie ahead. This year, I want to express my profound grat-itude. Gratitude not just for our past accom-plishments, but also for the collective journey we undertake together in advancing orthodontic practice through education and camaraderie. I invite you to mark your calendars for our upcoming Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, scheduled for September 25–27 at the luxurious Voco Downtown hotel. This year, we have an exceptional program lined up that promises to elevate our understanding and practice of orthodontics. Our featured speakers include Keith Wilkerson, DDS, MS, who will delve into the intricacies of interceptive orthodontics, and Attila Nagy, DDS, MS, who will provide invalu-able insight on diagnoses and troubleshooting. Leading up to this meeting, we also have exciting educational opportunities. Starting March 21, we will launch our Early Treatment Course featuring a hybrid format with live Zoom and in-person clinical sessions. Kauser Bari, DDS 2025 Dental Assistant’s Course Coming to Dallas Dr. Charles Young has confirmed that he will again teach the Academy of Gp Orthodontics’ annual three-day Dental Assistant’s Course, to be held this year from July 24 to 25 in Dallas, TX. Watch the Academy’s website and the Journal for further information. The hands-on lab portion of the Dental Assistant’s Course makes it an indispensable in-person experi-ence. The course is intended for assistants with little orthodontic training, as well as a refresher for more experienced assistants. The course will give the chair-side dental assistant a better understanding of orthodontics and the Differential Straight Arch (Tip-Edge) Technique. provided by the Academy. Assis-tants will learn how to apply brack-ets, bands and auxiliaries using the Tip-Edge system. Young will cover the Tip-Edge stages of treatment, tracing cephalometric x-rays and model analysis for the diagnosis of arch-length discrepancy. The Academy will provide course attendees a T.P. Orthodon-tics supply kit with bracket kits, archwires and a carousel dispenser. A list of additional supplies needed from attendees’ offices will be sent with each course confirmation.
