His open bite closed and we were able to achieve an ideal OB/OJ of 1.5 mm. The molars and canines were finished in a Class I relationship.” Treatment Objectives Achieved Diagnosis and Treatment Plan: Although GG’s molars were almost Class I, he presented with a skele-tal Class III malocclusion. His chief complaint was his 3mm anterior open bite from canine to canine. (Figs. 10a-10c) The treatment plan for him was to use a habit appliance and elastics to close his bite. He was treated without extractions. Tip–Edge brackets and wires were used. Stage I was skipped because his teeth were already aligned enough to bracket all of them allowing us to go to Pre–Stage 3. Elastics were used to move the molars in to a Class I relationship. Achievement of Treatment Objectives: With this case, I was able to use .016 ss wires all the way through treatment and achieve a nice occlusion with steps and elastics. GG was a very cooperative patient. He wore elastics well. GG’s case finished very well. (Figs. 11a-11c) Treatment took just under two years.
