Fig. 25 í On the lip bumper, bilateral custom hooks were soldered just distal to the COR of the anterior tooth unit. Brackets and a sectional archwire were placed on the mandibular incisors. A power chain to intrude the mandibular incisors 2 was placed; one end of the power chain was placed on one hook, the power chain was then extended over (incisal) the incisor brackets and the other end of the power chain was placed on the second hook (Fig. 25). Forty to sixty grams total of intrusion force was placed on the four mandibular incisors. 4 í Treatment is ongoing. Conclusion In this three part series, I have presented the tools and techniques that I utilize to achieve a proper over-bite and overjet when treating an orthodontic case. A strong emphasis is placed on developing a symmetrical bilateral Class I platform as early in a case as possible, generally with a partial appliance.
