Fig. 23 Fig. 24 Case 5 The patient presented with: í Symmetric dental Class II Div. 1 platform (Figs. 23-B and 24-A and B) í Excessive overjet (Fig. 24-C) í Deep dental bite (Fig. 24-C) í Narrow dental arches (Fig. 24-D and E) í Over erupted mandibular incisors (Figs. 24-C and 25) í Slightly open skeletal vertical dimension (Fig. 23-A and from the Sassouni + Analysis) í Normal growth pattern (from the Sassouni + Analysis) The following treatment was performed: í A maxillary nitanium palatal expander (NPE) 5 was placed to expand the arch, distal rotate the maxillary first molars, and to control the skeletal vertical dimension while employing intrusion mechanics. í Simultaneously an .018 SS retraction archwire (RA) was used to intrude and retract the maxillary incisors (Fig. 25-A, B and C). í A mandibular lip bumper 2 was used to widen the arch and slightly distal rotate the mandibular first molars (Fig. 25). 22 Winter 2016 JAOS
