The table 7 shown in Fig. 38 shows the norms of UFH to LFH from age 4 to adulthood. If the patient is not an adult a 4th arc is necessary. The blue arc shown in Figure 39 is called the age related skeletal vertical dimension arc. The patient in this case is 12 years old. Referring to the table in Fig. 38, LFH=UFH+6mm. Therefore, a blue arc is placed 6mm below the higher of the two bottom vertical dimension arcs. When the patient is fully occlud-ing on her posterior teeth the mandible is shy of the blue age related skeletal vertical dimension arc by 3mm.
