Three years after starting his practice he received advanced training in orthodontics and has helped correct the smiles of children, teens and adults for over 30 years. He is a member of both the American Orthodontic Society and the Academy of Gp Orthodontics, as well as an Editor of the Journal of the American Orthodontic Society for the past 19 years. He has published several articles in both American and Foreign Journals. In addition he is a Certified Dental Editor and member of the American Association of Dental Editors and Journalists, The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, and other local societies. Randy K. Newby, DDS, is a Diplomate of the AOS and has prac-ticed orthodontics for 30 years and has completed over 2,000 cases. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1976, and the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1980. He has completed the Master Program in implant dentistry at the GIDE Institute in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Newby practices multidisciplinary dentistry in Mount Hope, KS, a small community outside of Wichita with his associate Katie L. Neidig, DDS, an AOS member. Dr. Nicassio has maintained a private practice focused on orthodontics and prosthodontics for 34 years. He has taught over 800 full days of contin-uing education in 19 different countries internationally and through-out the United States and Canada. He has been a consultant for fellow general dentists all over the world and has diagnosed over 40,000 comprehensive orthodontic cases. The objective of his courses is to teach the Gp Orthodontics to the same standard of care as a specialist with clarity, wisdom and sense-of-humor. Jim Prittinen, DDS, received his DDS degree from the University of Minnesota in 1981 and has been an orthodontic instructor for the United States Dental Institute since 1993. In addition, he has been the director of Practical Orthodontics since 1997. Practical Orthodontics is an organization whose mission is to provide orthodontic educational opportunities for dentists. Dr. Prittinen maintains a general dental practice in Virginia, MN, where he treats about 50 orthodontic cases per year. Dr. Prittinen has had numerous orthodontic articles and reviews published. His website, www.practicalorthoce.com, is a site dedicated to providing orthodontic education to dentists who want to learn more about orthodontics. Gary Schulman, DMD, M Arch, after practicing architecture, attended dental school and completed a residency program in pediatric dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He has been a member of the AOS since 2002. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and an assistant clinical professor at UConn. He is the curriculum coordinator for orthodontic training of the residents, provides 24 lectures to each class about orthodontics and serves on the Examination Committee of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has previously contributed to the Journal of the AOS. He also works in private practice in Glastonbury, CT with four outstanding dentists. Maria Zavala, RDA, BA, has earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at California State University, Long Beach. Maria graduated from the Dental Assistant Program at Cerritos College in 1991. With over 20 years of experience in the dental field, Maria currently works in a general dental practice and orthodontics. Maria has over teaching experience in orthodontics program for dental assistants and currently works with general doctors doing in-office consultations.
