Robin Schmidbauer will be teaching her Basic Straightwire for Assistants in Atlanta Nov. 4-6. In her 30 years in the dental profession, Robin has gained valuable knowledge and insight as office manager, business manager, chairside assistant and Expanded Func-tion Dental Auxiliary. This enables her to competently lead this beginning level weekend course, which is geared towards chairside assistants new to orthodontics and/or the straightwire technique. (16 CE hours) The weekend of November 4-6 will also find Dr. David Jackson conducting his Connection Update in Dallas. This weekend lecture class will focus on molar distalization vs. mandibular repositioning. Dr. Jackson will explain the difference between Rapid Palatal Expansion and Slow Alveolar Remod-eling in the transverse plane as he presents a predictable method to deter-mine transverse and sagittal require-ments of a patient. His lecture, “Effective and Efficient Delivery Systems – The Whole Package”, will be presented to pediatric dental graduate students November 19th from 8am to 4pm. (7 CE hours) Looking ahead to 2012, Dr. Chris Baker’s will hold her iOrtho course on the San Antonio Riverwalk beginning Jan. 13-14. What’s the “i” for? “Inter-ception”! This four session Compre-hensive Interception Orthodon-tics and Craniofacial Orthope-dics will equip the attendee with a confident understanding of the biologic basis of growth and develop-ment, tooth movement and func-tional appliances, diagnosis and effi-cient clinical application. Learn to harness and orthopedically redirect growth to normalize appearance and function EARLY. “Phase I and done!” Remaining session dates are March 2-3, April 20-21, June 29-30. (76 total hours CE) Our two most experienced instruc-tors, Dr. Bill Wyatt and Dr. Larry White, will offer their newly revamped Orthodontics in Today’s Dental Practice class beginning January 20-21 in Dallas. This intermediate concepts and tech-niques course is our only session-by-session offering and covers every-thing from patient consultation and diagnoses, treatment planning and therapies to identifying the different classes of malocclusions to archwire construction and wire bending. Subsequent session dates: March 2-3, April 27-28, May 18-19. (16 CE hours per session) If you are looking for a true clini-cal course, Dr. Dave Jackson’s Premiere class is for you! This six session course consists of Thursday – Friday lecture and hands-on and Saturday in-office practice on live patients. This is a clinical program designed for dentists with little or no experience in orthodontics who want to incorporate it into their practice or progress from removable appliances to a comprehensive, fixed technique. Session dates: March 29-31, Apr. 26-28, June 21-23, Aug. 23-25, Oct. 18-20, Nov. 29 -Dec. 1. (120 total CE hours) Want the 1, 2, 3’s of orthodontics? Dr. Leonard Carapezza will offer his Early Treatment of Malocclusion course in Boston beginning March 22-24. Each session is arranged to give an in-depth study of the Straight-Wire system using state-of-the-art audio visual procedures.
