CONTRIBUTOR BIOGRAPHIES Chris Baker, RN, DMD is a Diplomate of the American Orthodontic Society. She graduated from University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and completed both her specialty residency in Pediatric Dentistry, and her fellowship in the Department of Orthodontics at University of Connecticut. Dr. Baker is a senior lecturer for the AOS; her orthodontic courses are popu-lar with both pediatric and general dentists, where they learn comprehen-sive orthodontics and craniofacial orthopedics from early treatment to the treatment of the full adult dentition. Dr. Baker is President of the AOS and serves on the contin-uing education committee of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Baker is a clinical professor at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and practices pediatric dentistry and orthodontics in Lexington, KY. Paul Gange, is the founder, president, and owner of Reliance Orthodontic Products, Inc. and has had a career in the orthodontic industry that spans over three decades. Gange has been directly involved with the development of orthodontic adhesives, sealants and cements for over thirty-four years, including the first "No Mix" adhesive and many of the bonding products used in orthodontic practices everyday. He has been a guest speaker/lecturer in numerous Study Clubs, Universities, Continuing Education courses and Regional Component meetings in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Far East. His publications include numerous journal articles and textbook chapters. Jeffrey Gerhardt, DDS practices general dentistry and orthodontics in Cedar Park, TX. Graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 and the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio in 1992, he acquired two years of continuing education in orthodontics with the Academy of Gp Orthodontic in 1998 and gained Invisalign certification in 2002. Dr. Gerhardt is an orthodontic instructor for the Academy of Gp Orthodontics, publishing numerous articles on the subject. He is a member of the ADA, TDA, Capital Area Dental Association and the Academy of Gp Orthodontics. Tom Hughes, DDS, has been practicing general dentistry and orthodontics in Cassville, WI for 31 years. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and has a Bachelor degree in Biology from Edgewood College in Madison, WI. He received his International Board of Orthodontics (IBO) Diplomate in 1997. The IBO diplomate is the highest level of education in orthodontics recognized by the International Association for Orthodontics (IAO). In 1997 he became a Master Senior Instructor for the IAO. He has served as IAO President. Currently, he chairs the IAO Education Committee as well as the Wisconsin Oral Health Coalition. Since 2008, Hughes has worked with Lancer Orthodontics to develop his "Simplicity System" for comprehensive orthodontic treatment. He will be teaching his orthodontic system around the world to general and pediatric dentists. David W. Jackson, DDS, FAGD, IBO, graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1978. Dr. Jackson, a member of AOS and AGpO, as well as other professional organizations, operates two highly successful practices in Farmersville and Rowlett, Texas and employs over 25 people. He lectures extensively for the American Orthodontic Society and the Inter-national Association for Orthodontics. Daryl Mathias, CDT, has been in the Orthodontic lab industry since 1974 and a CDT (Certified Dental Technician) since 1981. He is co-founder and one of three principles at Accutech Orthodontic Laboratory, Inc., which has been in business since 1979 and is located in Chesapeake, VA. Mr. Mathias has lectured throughout the US. He currently teaches and lectures to residents at six recognized orthodontic programs across the country. He is also co-author of the latest orthodontic appliance book entitled ”Orthodontic Appliance Design Manual”. Bert Vesut, DDS, graduated form the University of Texas in Austin in 1981 with a degree in Biology. In 1987 , he graduated from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio with his DDS specializing in Pedi-atric Dentistry. In 1987, he opened a private partite of pediat-ric dentistry and orthodontics in Cedar Park, Texas. Dr. Vasut is a clinical orthodontic instructor for the Academy of Gp Orthodontics .
