AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Spring Refresher & Annual Meeting Are Opportunities To Continue Ortho Education Marc Dandois, DDS AGpO President Dallas, Texas is a wonderful destination in April, and especially for those attending the AGpO Spring Refresher. There was so much to learn and bring back to my practice from the outstanding line up of speak- ers. Dr. Ron Austin, Dr. Keith Wilkerson, Dr. Leslie Penley, Dr. Robert Allen and Dr. William Buckley all contributed to an outstanding meeting. The knowledge that you retain from all the courses that you have attended improves your practice’s abil- ity to perform and communicate efficiently and effec- tively with your patients. The optional Clear Correct clear aligner certification course provided many dentists with the ability to return home and provide aligner therapy in their practice without any case minimums and at a substantial savings. I always enjoy seeing and meeting with friends who come to the Spring Refresher and Annual Meetings. Networking with other colleagues is something that we all can benefit from too. The Spring Refresher was the last big meeting before the Annual Meeting in October 2010 -- hope to see you there! Keep building onto that great base of orthodontic continuing education that the Academy offers. Take care, Marc Dandois, DDS Differential Straight-Arch® Dr. Charles Young will be teach- ing the Academy’s three-day assis- tant course in Addison, TX, on July 29th-August 1st, 2010, with an optional Sunday session on Cephalometric tracing and model analysis. The course is intended for assistants with little orthodontic training, as well as a refresher course for the more experienced assistants. The course will give the chair-side assistant a better understanding of orthodontics and the Differential Straight-Arch® technique. Assistants will be working in pairs on study casts from your office along with typodants from the Academy. Assis- tants will learn how to apply brack- ets, bands and auxiliaries using the Tip-Edge® System. Dr. Young will cover the Tip-Edge® stages of treat- ment, tracing of cephalometric x- rays, and model analysis of arch length discrep- ancy. The Academy will provide a T.P. supply kit, which includes bracket kits, a straight shooter and carousel dispenser (a value of over $300 for these items alone, which you take home). A list of additional supplies needed from your office will be sent with the course confirmation. This year’s course will meet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
