CASE STUDY Figure 26: Left: pre-treatment. Right: near the end of Phase-II. Figure 28 Figure 27: Kim is two-thirds through her Phase-II clear tray treatment. Figure 29 entrapment with the right construction bite. • Deep sleep with assist from custom-designed Start Thriv-ing Appliance® • Bone-building diet and nasal breathing. • Wider airway from regrown maxilla and mandible. In retrospect, Kim’s earlier clear tray treatment attempted to straighten teeth without without knowing her Impaired Mouth. Phase I Orthopedics Can Grow Airway Epigenetically In my experience, the airway grows when the maxilla and mandible are regrown with Clinical Epigenetics using a bone-building diet in combination with Start Thriving Appliance and prescribed epigenetic changes. 31,32 Figure 23 shows airway growth gained at the end of Phase-I appliance treatment: 66% gain in airway volume and 43% in mini-mal cross-section. Figure 24 is a cephalometric comparison showing Kim’s maxilla gained 9mm forward growth during age 51-53. This is evidence of fuller gene expression from Clinical Epigenetics consisting of changing oral behavior with diet and lip seal, and oral environment with Start Thriving Appliance® and tongue posture. Reaching deeper sleep Objective records in Figures 25-28 support Kim's own rating of her symptoms in Figure 22 --90% at the end of Phase II with crowded teeth straightened. Such is the heal-ing power of Clinical Epigenetics. Figure 27 shows Kim’s arch coor-dination near the end of Phase-II. Viewers are invited to check for buccal tipping in posterior teeth. “It’s wonderful to have more energy”, beamed Kim S. halfway through her Phase-I treatment. She www.orthodontics.com Winter 2024 13
