ORTHO INDUSTRY NEWS Planmeca Viso CBCT Imaging System Debuts Planmeca has introduced the Planmeca Viso™ CBCT imaging system recently. Planmeca Viso features 2D, 3D, and optional cephalometric modali-ties. It is designed to provide improved patient positioning, simpler field-of-view adjustments, and intelligent patient movement correction, as well as to capture images at a low patient dose, with Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ imag-ing. The system has a large 25 x 30 cm flat panel sensor that allows the Planmeca Viso to capture the entire maxillofacial area. Patient positioning is done directly from the system’s control panel utiliz-ing integrated cameras and a live video view. The operator can see the patient live from the control panel screen for flexible and exact position-ing. The innovation allows users to do field-of-view adjustments directly from the live control panel view with the touch of a fingertip. provide improved diagnostic images and help eliminate retakes. The system’s new imaging arm design also provides increased patient space and shorter acquisition times. The system also introduces a new way of capturing three-dimen-sional Planmeca ProFace® facial photos. Equipped with a new upper and lower head support and four integrated cameras aimed at the patient from different direc-tions, Planmeca ProFace covers a larger area than before with enhanced image quality. According to the company, Planmeca Viso paves the way for the launch of Planmeca 4D™ Jaw Motion. This new Planmeca-exclu-sive technology is a CBCT inte-grated solution for tracking, recording, visualizing, and analyz-ing jaw movement in 3D. It offers visualization and measurement data of mandibular 3D movements in real-time. Planmeca Viso also features Plan-meca CALM™ (Correction Algo-rithm for Latent Movement) which analyzes and compensates for slight movements during a scan to Precision Plier Service Launches New Line of Instrument Care Products quantities.
