AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Two 3-Day Assistant’s Courses to Be Held In Two Locales In 2014, Dr. Charles Young will be teaching the Academy’s three-day Assistant’s Course in Plano, TX and in Chicago, IL. The Texas course will run from July31st to August 3rd. The Illinois course will be held on April 24-27. The course is intended for assistants with little orthodontic training as well as a refresher course for the more experienced assistants. The course will give the chairside assistant a better understanding of orthodon-tics and the Differential Straight Arch (Tip-Edge ® ) Technique. Assistants will be working in pairs on study casts from your office along with typodonts from the Academy. Assistants will learn how to apply brackets, bands and auxiliaries using the Tip-Edge System. Dr. Young will cover the Tip-Edge stages of treatment, tracing of cephalometric Charles Young, DDS x-rays and model analysis for the diagnosis of arch length discrepancy. The Academy will supply a T.P. Orthodontics supply kit, which includes bracket kits, a straight shooter and a carousel dispenser (a value of over $300 for these items alone, which you take home).
