AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Refresh & Improve Your Orthodontic Skills Welcome to summertime and a warm welcome to Houston (almost)! As we move further into the summer, I want to express my sincere gratitude to each and every member of our Academy and extend my best wishes for continued prosperity. As my tenure as President of this remarkable organization draws to a close, I am deeply grateful to Adam Griswold, Jennifer Beasley and Dr. Greg Cannizzo for their exceptional contributions. Their dedication has ensured our continued success. Looking ahead, here are some upcoming highlights about our annual meeting, lectures and study clubs. The 2024 Annual Meeting will take place on September 26-28 at the Hyatt Regency Galleria. Attendees can earn up to 13 CDE hours. Houston is a great city of food, museums, parks and shop-ping. So come early or stay after the annual meet-ing to enjoy all that Houston has to offer. There will be two full days of lectures at the annual meeting: Fred Der, DDS and Ron Austin, DDS will present on enhancing Tip Edge Treatment with straight wire techniques; Milton Ntragatakis, DDS, MS on using aligners in mixed denti-tion cases; and Ricardo Medellin Fuentes, DDS, MS on Mastering Brian Machart, DDS Biomechanics. Take the time AGpO President during this great weekend to catch up with your friends and fellow members. In addition to hearing these great lectures and getting a chance to reconnect, you will have the chance to meet with all the great industry representatives who exhibit at our great meeting. Brian Machart, DDS AGpO's Expert Instruction: Train To The Next Level The Academy of Gp Orthodon-tics is a non-profit educational and professional organization which was founded by Dr. Charles Yates in 1987. Its membership is composed of dentists and dental specialists who provide quality orthodontic care for their patients. The orga-nization's goal is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and new technological developments in the field of orthodontics through comprehensive orthodontic expe-riences with direct patient care. AGpO has over 37 years’ experi-ence providing comprehensive orthodontic continuing education courses where students treat patients. Courses will be starting in both Frisco Texas and Chesapeake Virginia late this summer and early fall. These 12-session courses meet one weekend every two months and consists of classroom lecture and comprehensive clinical hands-on training with direct patient treat-ment. These courses are designed to be the closest CE course to an orthodontic residency for the general practitioner.
