AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Sun, Sand and Tip-Edge! It has been a wonderful start to 2017 and a great summer for the Academy! The number of enrolling doctors has been steadily increasing. We are experienc-ing an all-time high in course enrollment and member-ship. Adding to this is our upcoming Annual Meeting October 5-7, 2017 at the beautiful San Luis Resort in Galveston, TX. At this year’s Annual Meeting, we will have a half-day lecture from Dr. Chris Kesling, whose father Pete invented the Tip-Edge bracket. If you have never heard Dr. Chris Kesling speak, or if you have been lucky enough to listen to him speak in the past, you will find his lecture on “Day-to-Day Tip-Edge Techniques” to be just what you need to help with your cases. Rounding out the second half of Friday’s lecture is Dr. Ron Austin. Dr. Austin will finish his lecture that he started on clinical problem solving at last year’s Annual Meeting in Dallas. Saturday will feature a series of short troubleshoot-ing lectures on different Tip-Edge topics from the Academy instructors, including: b Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Keith Wilkerson will speak on orthodontic concerns prior to and during the early eruptive phase of arch development; he’ll explain what to watch out for and why. If you are treating young patients or want to start adding early treatment orthodontics to your practice, then this is a good place to start. Sherman John Menser, DDS b Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Milton AGpO President Ntragatakis will be lecturing on the EZ Distalizer: Taking Compliance out of the Equation. b Dr. Charles Young will present on how to treat subdivision cases and other malocclusions using the Austin Protraction Arch and additional detail-ing of your cases utilizing the ART appliance and Goodman Springs. b Dr. Jeffery Gerhardt’s topic will be What To Do When The Bite Is Not Opening. b Dr. Robert Allen will lecture on a variety of orthodontic pearls. b Dr. Sherman Menser will share his thoughts on When Conventional Tip Edge Is Not Enough. b Dr. Kyle McCrea will explain subdivision extraction patterns. Dr. Sherman John Menser, DDS Sign Up for Popular 3-Day Dental Assistant Course Dr. Charles Young will be teaching the Academy's three-day Dental Assistant Course in Plano, TX this summer. The course will run from July 20-23, 2017 at the Marriott Legacy Town Center. This course is intended for assistants with little orthodontic training as well as a refresher course for more experienced assistants. The course will give the chairside dental assistant a better under-standing of orthodontics and the Differential Straight Arch (Tip-Edge) Technique. cover the Tip-Edge stages of treatment, tracing of cephlomet-ric xrays, and model analysis for the diagnosis of arch length discrepancy.
