The Academy has come up with an excellent opportunity for you to mix work with pleasure. During the first week of September, from the 4th -7th, the Academy of Gp Ortho will be having its 26th Annual Session at the Curtis Hotel in Denver, Colorado. It will be your chance to learn something new, catch up with your fellow Tip-Edgers, enjoy a bit of the outdoors and relax at a world-class resort hotel. Dr. Gerald Sampson will be our featured presenter. He will be delving into the mechanics of orthodontic movement by lecturing on the fundamental concepts of physics that make orthodontics work and tying it to the biology involved. To liven things up, Dr. Samp-son has some fun and thought-provoking hands on exercises to bring those concepts to life. He will do his best to demystify why our mechanics work in most of our cases most of the time and why, some-times, they just don’t. Of course your Tip-Edge instructors will be available to help troubleshoot cases with you, so bring your models and records and be ready to put your heads together. Meetings like this are a great way to get reenergized and go home to make orthodontics a bigger part of your practice. Come get some new ideas and inspira-tion. Kyle McCrea Comprehensive Two-Year, Hands-On Course Graduates Twelve Doctors Twelve doctors recently completed their comprehensive two-year hands on course in Rock-wall Texas. The course was taught and hosted by Dr. Robert Allen. The doctors completed the Academy's 12 session hands on comprehensive course and earned a minimum 155 CDE hours in orthodontics and related topics. Three doctors achieved the Associ-ate Fellowship Level of the Academy of Gp Orthodontics Tier Advancement Program. Each doctor needed to complete a minimum of three cases during the hands-on course followed by passing a written and oral exami-nation. These doctors included Dr. Scott Earp DDS, Raleigh NC; Hanh Lee DDS, Dallas TX; and Sojanja Sudanagunta DDS, Dublin CA. Assisting Dr. Allen with teaching the course was Dr. Kyle McCrea.
