CASE STUDY decreased. Witts parameters increased to -4 demonstrating her true camouflaged Class III skeletal relationship. Her Pogonion to NB increased by 2 mm. Maxillary incisors stayed in the same position but angulation was decreased by 5 degrees. Incisor angulation was increased improving clinical appearance and helping to create a new overbite and acceptable overjet. Mandibular teeth decreased their maxillary protrusion by 1 mm and decreased the original angulation by 5 degrees (Figs. 4-5 and Figs.17-18). Correction of the anterior open bite was based on bi-maxillary intrusion of the molars. Class III dental rela-tionship was corrected by mandibular arch retraction into a Class I. These movements eliminated lower lip protru-sion and straining of the peri-oral muscles. They also eliminated the possibility of creating an esthetically chal-lenging gummy smile. Her continuing efforts to learn new facial movements without “guarding” her former open bite appearance are physiological and esthetical bonuses of her treatment. At the time of final records, her dental classification was Class I, with very adequate overjet and overbite. Her face was balanced, with improved facial and dental esthet-ics.
