ProMonitoring: The Workflow Gamechanger If the attachment reduction earned my attention to CandidPro, ProMoni-toring earned my excitement. For those unfamiliar, Candid-Pro’s ProMonitoring system allows patients to submit regular photo-graphic scans from home using the Candid monitoring device, with AI-assisted tracking reviewed by the clinical team (Fig. 4). Rather than scheduling patients for in-office progress checks every six to eight weeks, I can monitor active aligner cases remotely and bring patients in only when clinically indicated. In a relatively small practice like mine, this is not a minor operational convenience, but rather a structural advantage. Clear aligner patients who are tracking well do not need to occupy a chair. They need to be seen, assessed and advanced. ProMonitoring does the seeing and the assessment. We are required only to make the clinical judgment. A typical CandidPro patient in my practice might complete an eight-to 12-month treatment course with three or four in-office visits: records, delivery, one mid-course check and debond. The process compares favorably to the six to eight visits a comparable aligner case would historically require. Multiply that across a moderate aligner caseload, and the 8 Spring 2026 JAOS
