Apel, DMD, received her DMD degree with great distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada in 2002. Dr. Apel moved to Missouri where she practiced general dentistry for seven years before returning to Canada with a private practice in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Although she continues to provide general dentistry treatment to her patients, her passions are helping children with their facial growth and development by providing myofunctional orthodontic treatment. Carapezza, DMD is a Diplomate of the AOS and has over 25 years of clinical experience in pediatric orthodontics and operates a successful private practice in Wayland, MA. He has degrees from Brandeis University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He served as a Teaching Fellow at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and received a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Children’s Hospital. Dr. Carapezza is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine and a contributing editor to the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry . His lecture experience includes the Senior Certified Instructor for both the American Orthodontic Society (AOS) and International Association for Orthodontics (IAO). Juan Carlos Echeverri, DDS, FAOS, After earning his DDS in his native country of Colombia, Dr. Echeverri moved to the US to pursue graduate studies. He received his Certificate of Maxillofacial Prosthetic Dentistry from LSU School of Dentistry in 1989 and his DDS from UT-Houston in 1992. Fluent in Spanish and English, he has lectured in Colombia, Venezuela, and Spain, in addition to the US and has published articles in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of the American Orthodontic Society. His private practice in Houston focuses on a comprehensive approach to the treatment of patients, including restorative, prosthetic, and implant dentistry, as well as minor oral surgery and orthodontics.
