CONTRIBUTOR BIOGRAPHIES Sam Desai, DDS has been a dentist for more than 25 years. He received his dental degree (BDS, MDS) in prosthetics from dental college in India. He graduated with a DDS degree from NYU college of dentistry in 1993 with honors. He's very passionate about helping his patients and achieving the best healthy smile for them. He treats his patient like a family. He has a vast experience with special interest in cosmetics, implants and orthodontics. He's married to Dr. Sandra Desai (podiatrist) and he has three daughters. Elsa Alfonzo-Echeverri, DDS, FAAPD, is the Vice President of Echeverri Dental Center in Houston TX. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and is an international speaker having made presentations in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain and the USA. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Assn of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Orthodontic Society. Juan Carlos Echeverri, DDS, FAOS, After earning his DDS in his native country of Colombia, Dr. Echeverri moved to the United States to pursue graduate studies. He received his Certificate of Maxillofacial Prosthetic Dentistry from LSU School of Dentistry in 1989 and his DDS from UT-Houston in 1992. Fluent in Spanish and English, he has lectured in Colombia, Venezuela, and Spain, in addition to the US and has published articles in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of the American Orthodontic Society . His private practice in Houston focuses on a comprehensive approach to the treatment of patients, including restorative, prosthetic and implant dentistry, as well as minor oral surgery and orthodontics.
