Beistle, DDS received his DDS degree from the University of Michigan in 1961. He is a disciple of Doctors Hy Pleasant, Dr. John WItzig and Merle Bean. He has been a leader in the use and application for cephalometric diagnosis in orthodontics. Dr. Beistle introduced the concept of Sassouni + Analysis in the mid 1980s and, since that time, has been an author and popular lecturer on the subject. Since 1987, he has lectured with Dr. Gerber on functional orthopedics and orthodontics. Elsa Alfonzo-Echeverri, DDS, FAAPD, is the Vice President of Echeverri Dental Center in Houston TX. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and is an international speaker having made presentations in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain and the USA. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Assn of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Orthodontic Society. Juan Carlos Echeverri, DDS, FAOS, after earning his DDS in his native country of Colombia, Dr. Echeverri moved to the United States to pursue graduate studies. He received his Certificate of Maxillofacial Prosthetic Dentistry from LSU School of Dentistry in 1989 and his DDS from UT-Houston in 1992. Fluent in Spanish and English, he has lectured in Colombia, Venezuela, and Spain, in addition to the US and has published articles in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of the American Orthodontic Society . His private practice in Houston focuses on a comprehensive approach to the treatment of patients, including restorative, prosthetic and implant dentistry, as well as minor oral surgery and orthodontics. Dr. Echeverri is a Diplomate of the AOS and currently serves on the Board. Jay W. Gerber, DDS is the clinical director of the TMJ and Craniofacial Pain Clinic where he provides treatment for orthodontics and TMD in Parkersburg, WV. He is the founder and director of the Center for Occlusal Studies an educational facility in Parkersburg, the Director of Neuromuscular Orthodontics at the Las Vegas Institute and is a Certified IAO Senior Instructor. He has lectured to distinguished groups, associations and at universities since 1984. In 1990 he was honored as the ‘Clinician of the Year’ by the American Association for Functional Orthodontics. Dr. Gerber is the developer of the NFO™ Neuromuscular Functional Orthodontics Gerber Technique and numerous functional orthopedic appliances. David W. Jackson, DDS, FAGD, IBO, graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1978. Dr. Jackson, a member of AOS and AGpO, as well as other professional organi-zations, lectures extensively for the American Orthodontic Society and the International Association for Orthodontics. His insight to the real world of orthodontics in the general practice is honest and informative. Thomas S. Ben Miraglia, DDS graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Miraglia completed a general practice residency program at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Nicassio has maintained a private practice in Norwalk, CA for 25 years. Dr. Nicassio a member of AOS has taught 700 days of continuing education in the 19 different countries internationally and throughout United States and Canada. Maria Zavala, RDA, BA, has earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at California State University, Long Beach. Maria graduated from the Dental Assistant Program at Cerritos College in 1991 and lives in Lakewood, CA. With over 20 years of experience in the dental field, Maria currently works in a general dental practice and orthodontics. Maria has teaching experience in orthodontics program for dental assistants and currently works with general doctors doing in office consultations.
