And you can print off models in proper dimensions or fit them to the page. We keep all of our records, letters, digitization, time point photos, panolipse, and cephalographs in Dolphin Imaging. Currently, OrthoSelect does not integrate with Dolphin. However, we still load the models in as JPGS and make them a part of the patient’s permanent record (Figs. 4, 5, & 6). The company can make plaster or plastic models at any time for a fee. If the AOS Board of Examiners required stone models in the future they would be sent to me for I believe around $50 per set. Meanwhile, instead of a storage locker of broken models with a monthly rental of $70, I now have my records in cyberspace!! Years ago, the statement was made by one of our former Examiners that, “the proof is on the table in the stone models”. Today the same proof can be found digitally. Someone once said that man would never fly. Well we are now flying from a technology perspective and it is exciting. I can attain everything from Digital Models and more than I could from stone models, and I do not worry about storage or myself or anyone else breaking them. And I do not worry about what I am going to do in five years with boxes of models stacked floor to ceiling! I offer you two words of advice: GO DIGITAL!
