CONTRIBUTOR BIOGRAPHIES Raphael Greenfield, DDS, MScD as a honors graduate of Howard University College of Dentistry, Dr. Greenfield received a MS in Orthodontics from Boston University in 1973 and continued as a clinical instructor until 1976. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1984 and exhibited his board cases at the A.A.O. meeting that same year. Lecturing nationally and abroad on his 98.5% nonextraction treatment philosophy, he presented his “Coordinated Arch Development®” philosophy at the 1996, 2003 and 2004 scientific sessions of the American Association of Orthodontists. Publishing extensively in 1999, Dr. Greenfield is the originator of five scientific patents and successfully treating more than 10,000 nonextraction patients over 30 years. David W. Jackson, DDS, FAGD, IBO graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1978. Dr. Jackson, a member of AOS and AGpO, as well as other professional organi-zations, operates two highly successful practices in Farmersville and Rowlett, Texas and employs over 25 people. He lectures extensively for the American Orthodontic Society and the International Association for Orthodontics. Jorge Landa, DMD is a Pediatric Dentist from South Florida. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2007. Dr. Landa completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Tufts University and the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, Ma. During his time in residency, Dr. Landa was involved in organizing the dental component of the Tufts Medical Center Cleft Palate Team, and was the recipient of the prestigious Dr. Waldemar Brehm Scholarship in Early Orthodontics. Currently Dr. Landa is in private practice in Palmetto Bay, Florida. Marla Merritt is the Director of Sales and Marketing for OrthoBanc, LLC. She has over 20 years of experience in financial services and credit reporting. Marla was recently awarded Exhibitor Magazine’s All Star Award for OrthoBanc’s marketing efforts at the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session, 2009, in Boston. Alfred Rich, DMD is an assistant clinical professor and part-time member of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He received his DMD degree, MDS, and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Pittsburgh. He has authored multiple publications in the professional literature and has special research interest in nasal and oral airways. He also has the responsibility for monitoring the status of the research projects for the postdoctoral program. J. Wellington (Skip) Truitt, BS, DDS received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor Univer-sity. He has maintained a private dental practice in Gainesville, Texas, since 1967. He also acts as a consultant to other private medical and dental practices around the world.
