Hurricane Irma was an extremely powerful and catastrophic hurricane that was almost 500 miles wide, covering the entire state of Florida. It was the first major hurricane to make landfall in Florida since 2005. Sadly, Hurricane Irma made her way toward the Sunshine State the same week the American Orthodontic Society was to hold its annual meeting, which had to be cancelled. Many parts of Pinellas County and Clearwater Beach were left without power for several days after Irma’s departure. AOS apologizes for any inconve-nience caused by the cancellation, but it was done with the safety of our AOS members and Florida residents in mind. Next year's Annual Meeting at Paradise Point in San Diego, CA will take place September 13-16, 2018. Please plan to join us for the best in orthodontic education!
