In patients whose maloc-clusion is less than half of a molar Class II and the second molars have not yet fully erupted, Mulligan vertical mechanics are effective in correcting a deep dental bite and excessive overjet. 8 Utilizing tip-back bends and allowing the first molars to distalize along the archwire, the half Class II molars (Figs. 14-15) are now in a bilateral super Class I plat-form and the deep overbite and excessive overjet has self-corrected (Fig. 14-B).
