Steven Bradley, DDS AGpO President I can attest that by incorporating orthodontics into my general practice, I have bettered the lives of my patients. In addition, whenever I attend any of the numerous courses offered by the Academy, I always glean at least one new pearl that I can apply immediately into my practice. A special thanks to the following people as we start this next new year of orthodontic dental education: Dr. Eugene Boone, who I love talking cars and ortho with; Dr. Greg Cannizzo, who does an outstanding job publishing and putting together our Journal; and last but not least, Adam Griswold, our esteemed Executive Director who makes the annual meetings run flawless every year. Have a great start to the beginning of what is looking to be an outstanding year in continuing education offered to you through your Academy! Steven P. Bradley, DDS Five Doctors Complete the AGpO’s 12-Session Early Treatment Course in Austin, Texas The Academy's 12 session Early Treatment Course recently concluded in Austin, Texas. Instruc-tors were Dr. Keith Wilkerson, Past President of the AGpO and Dr. Burt Vasut, AGpO Clinical Instructor. Five students completed this year long course which included, early orthodontic diagnosis; record taking on young children; treatment plan-ning for early crowding; space anal-ysis in the mixed dentition; airway assessment in relation to facial growth and treatment strategies and retention after First Phase treat-ment. With this information and the year long hands on experience working on young patients in their mixed dentition the graduates will be able to bring the knowledge, tools and training they have received back to their practices in order to treat these patients during their early facial development.
