AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Continue Your AGpO Education This Fall in Oklahoma City It’s the middle of summer, so if you haven’t already signed up for our Annual Meeting this fall in Okla-homa, then it’s time to get moving on registering for what is gearing up to be a great meeting. Members will be coming together from September 26-28, 2019 at the Colcord Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK. AGpO Executive Director Adam Griswold has secured three excellent speakers who will provide atten-dees with information on a wide range of Tip-Edge topics. Our own Dr. Ron Austin will be lecturing all day on Friday. In the morning, he will present “Cases with a Twist”, and for the second half of the day, he will tackle “Tip-Edge Tips”. Make sure to attend so you can take all of Dr. Austin’s great pearls home to be used in your office Monday morning. Saturday morning will feature Dr. Ricardo Medellin. He will be speaking on Tip-Edge finishing, utilizing the Tip-Edge Prefinisher. In addition, he will also be intro-Joe Fallin, DDS AGpO President ducing the new Tip-Edge self-ligating bracket. Saturday afternoon will feature Dr. John J. Jasper, speaking on treating Class II cases using the new next generation VektorPro. Dr. Jasper is the inventor of the Jasper Jumper so I’m sure his lecture will be very informative. This great meeting won’t be just great lectures and tons of useful Tip-Edge information; on Friday evening, we will be having a BBQ dinner and private tour at the Western Heritage Museum complete with live music. This meeting is a great chance for you to reenergize both yourself and your Tip-Edge treatment. I’ll see you in Oklahoma City in September! Joe Fallin, DDS Three-Day Dental Assistant’s Course This Summer Dr. Charles Young will be teach-ing the Academy’s three-day Dental Assistant Course in Plano, TX to be held July 25–27, 2019 at the Marriott Legacy Town Center. This course is intended for assistants with little orthodontic training as well as a refresher course for more experienced assistants. The course will give the chairside dental assis-tant a better understanding of orthodontics and the Differential Straight Arch (Tip-Edge) Technique. Dental assistants will be working in pairs on study casts from your office along with typodonts from the Academy. Assistants will learn how to apply brack-ets, bands and auxiliaries using the Tip-Edge System. Dr. Young will cover the Tip-Edge stages of treatment, tracing cephalomet-ric x-rays and model analysis for the diagnosis of arch length discrepancy. The Academy will provide a T.P. Orthodontics supply kit that includes bracket kits, archwires, and a carousel dispenser. A list of additional supplies that will be needed from your office that will be sent with course confirmation.
