Fig. 6: Third appointment: 5 months. Upper and lower 0.014 ther-moactive archwires in combination with elastics provide the force needed to achive the natural dental arch of the patient from upper right second molar ro upper left second molar. Fig. 8: Fifth appointment: 10 months. Post-treatment intraoral photographs Finished treatment without any invasive procedure, the patient's natural dental arch is established using only the MTB Philos-ophy to achive the functional occlusion. Fig. 7: Fourth appointment: 7 months. Upper and lower 0.014 x 0.025 thermoactive archwire to refine the natural dental arch form of the patient. The patient is to continue using the light elastics at night. extending from the right cuspid to the left cuspid. (Fig.2) The upper arch was crowded without space for left and right lateral, and an evident tongue thrust habit accentuating the bimaxillary flaring and protru-sion of the incisors, with bilateral crossbite extending from left first molar to the right first molar. Treatment: Bonding Self-Ligating Brackets including the upper second molars The treatment involved following MTB Philosophy with Aesthetic Self Ligating CRYSTAL 3D fixed appli-ances and development of the maxillary transversal bio adaptation through application of the 8 clinical princi-ple of MTB Philosophy. Upper 0.014 thermoactive arch-wire and upper second molars build up’s were placed to restore the dental natural arch of the patient. (Figs. 3-8) Post-treatment extraoral photographs The patient's face, profile and smile shows that the problem with mouth breathing was solved. (Fig.9) 48 Summer 2015 JAOS Fig. 9
