AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS New Ideas & Inspiration Awaits I became a member of the Academy of Gp Orthodontics back in 1987. I have watched as our orga-nization has grown from offering hands-on orthodontic courses at one location in Texas to the 17 locations we currently offer at sites across the country and Canada. In addition, the Academy is a great source of contin-uing education. We have added courses on Early Treat-ment, Assistant Courses and Advanced Courses. And, AGpO’s Annual Meeting is a great place to meet with other great pediatric and Gp doctors who offer orthodontic treatment to their patients. This year, our annual meeting will take place in my home state of Oklahoma at the Colcord Hotel in Oklahoma City on September 26–28. The annual meeting will kick off with our own Dr. Ron Austin, who is a past instructor and a much sought-after lecturer on the Tip-Edge System. Ron will spend the day showcasing some “cases with a twist” as well as a half day of Tip-Edge tips. Saturday will be split between Dr. Ricado Medellin Fuentes and Dr. James Jasper. Dr. Fuentes will begin Saturday by introducing Joe Fallin, DDS the new Tip-Edge self-ligating AGpO President bracket and then followed with a discussion about finishing cases with Pre-Finishers. Dr. Jasper is the inventor of the “Jasper Jumper” and will speak on correcting Class II’s with the new next genera-tion Vektor Pro that recently launched. In addition, you will have a chance to meet with some of the top industry representatives in our Exhibit Hall while catching up with some of the best clinicians and colleagues around. Don’t hesitate to attend. Your Tip-Edge Instructors will also be available to help trou-bleshoot cases with you. Bring your models and records and take advantage of the chance to get that extra input you need. This annual AGpO meeting is a great way to reenergize so that when you head home, orthodontics can be an even larger part of your treat-ment. New ideas and inspiration are waiting for you in Oklahoma City. I’ll see you there.
