Twelve doctors graduated and earned their Associate Fellowship status with the Academy of Gp Orthodontics. This was the fifth course hosted by Dr. Greg Cannizzo who has been a host for the Academy's 12-session Compre-hensive Hands-on Course since 2001. The sixth two-year course will begin in July 2016. To date, 59 doctors have completed the course at the McHenry, IL site. During the last 15 years, Dr. Cannizzo's office has provided the patients for all doctors receiving their training at this site. A special thanks to host staff members/ Dental Assistants Patti Frett and Jayna Frett, Administrative Assistant Ann Pauley, and Office Manager Maura Frederick who worked to make the clinical portion of this course possible. Their assistance in coordinating the secretarial and clin-ical support for the past 15 years has made it possible for the course to continue at the McHenry site. Two-Day Advanced Tip-Edge Course The Academy has put together a two-day advanced lecture course to help take your Tip-Edge orthodontic practice to the next level. This course will be taught by Dr. Jeffery Gerhardt on June 24-25 at the Sugar Land Marriott Town Square in Sugar Land, Texas. This advanced course is intended for graduates of the 12-session hands-on course as well as experienced Tip-Edge practitioners. Dr. Gerhardt will discuss diagno-sis and how to better think about and simplify diagnosis from the early mixed dentition to adult cases. In addition, he will look at Pre-Stage I and how treatment during the mixed dentition can help make cases easier and by the aligning of teeth so that Stage I can work better. Other treat-ment problems such as what to do if the bite will not open during Stage I, case finishing and Jeffery Gerhardt, DDS problems that occur during Stage II and III will be addressed. This course will take you beyond the Tip-Edge guide with information from evidence-based literature and the combination of Tip-Edge and Straight Wire techniques for superior results.
