AOS MEMBERSHIP NEWS AOS Upcoming Orthodontic Courses Our annual Spring Meeting and Orthodontic Review Course will be held in Dallas, TX April 15 & 16, featuring Dr. Ed Gonzalez, Dr. Michael Pincus, Dr. Joseph Yousefian, among others. For AOS members striving to reach Diplomate status, we offer our Board Eligible two-day didactic course taught by our team of instructors and examiners. For other members, we’ve put together a program of lectures designed to educate, challenge, and inform on both clinical issues and practice management issues facing today's practitioner. (13 CDE hours) Susan Coffey, RDA, will be offer-ing her Orthodontic Assistant Training Course this summer in Dallas. The Basic is June 24 – 26 and covers the standard of care in orthodontics, proper records, under-standing Class, I, II, and III maloc-clusions, and prepping the patient for the doctor exam, just to name a few. The Advanced follows August 5 – 7 and covers appliance place-ment, removing bands and brackets, smart scheduling and profitability, among many other essential topics. (20 CDE hours each) Dr. Brad Williams begins his popular Level 1: Basic Straight Wire Orthodontics course in Dallas August 26 – 28. This five-session course will give you the skills and confidence to treat 70% of orthodontic cases that present themselves in your practice. Start-ing with understanding the Straight Wire Orthodontic System to case finishing and retention, this easy to understand comprehensive course will set you on your path to treating orthodontic patients! (100 CDE hours) Robin Schmidbauer, CDA, EFDA, offers her assistant courses in the fall this year in Nashville. Her Basic Straight Wire for Assis-tants , Sept. 16 & 17, covers under-standing of instruments, proper record-taking, correct placement of brackets and wires, and patient care of braces. The Advanced , Nov. 4 & 5, covers cephalometrics, archwire sequence and placement, and the MDA. These are just some of the valuable subjects covered in these classes. (13 CDE hours each) NEW!
