AOS MEMBERSHIP NEWS A Beachy Educational Experience For This Year’s Annual Meeting David M. Thorfinnson, DDS AOS President As a North Lander who appreciates winter weather, I ask you to pause and think. Imagine yourself on a white pristine beach, only steps from a thatch-roofed “Tiki” bar with dolphins jumping in the surf. A beau-tiful pier stands only two minutes away jutting 100 yards into the surf, perfect for casting the rod or just becoming lost in the beauty of a sunset. Is this the Bahamas or Barbados? Neither. We are talking about Clearwater Beach, Florida, home to this year’s AOS Annual Meeting. Attendees to our October 8-11 meeting will be treated to a beach that has been voted “Best in Florida.” With a hotel that borders the beach, and only a five minute walk to the bustling Clearwater Marina, this is a magical location for family and staff. As always, education will be premier. Speakers this year include Dr. Luis Carriere, who will be speaking on “Harmonious Forces.” In addition, there will be presentations on sleep apnea, practice management, and a special presentation on Migraine and Chronic Pain Management. I also want to encourage all our credentialed members to attend the Spring Meeting in Dallas, April 24-25. This meeting is designed for all practi-tioners, with presentations on pediatric airway diag-nosis, aesthetics and finishing, orthodontic/restora-tive considerations for congenitally missing teeth and avulsed teeth, and a legal review on risk management for the dental practice. There is so much happening in our association, and it is there for you–the member. See you in Dallas and Clearwater. David M. Thorfinnson, DDS www.orthodontics.com Spring 2015 45
