AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Your Education Continues This October in Dallas After a successful Spring Refresher in Dallas, the refreshing summer breezes are blowing here in South Eastern Alaska. As I write, many of us rainforest denizens are out enjoying our surrounding environ-ment this summer. Our Alaskan brown bears are also out and active, sometimes resulting in bear/human encounters. Most of these encounters end on a posi-tive note, with both parties learning something from the meeting. This is the time of year I think about my CE courses for the upcoming fall and winter. I hope you will consider the AGpO annual meeting in Dallas. These meetings have always been a positive encounter for me. And in addition to our meeting, I will also be taking training this winter in sleep disorders. I was introduced to this topic at several of our previous AGpO meetings, and its importance has finally sunk in. Another positive encounter. Our annual meeting in Dallas this October will feature several top-notch speakers providing us with many excellent encounters. Dr. Sylvan Morein will be speaking to Tom Jacobsen, DDS AGpO President the issue of extraction vs non-extraction. Jeff Gerhardt and Bert Vasut will present on mixed dentition analy-sis and serial extraction. Our own AGpO instructors will hold two troubleshooting sessions to discuss cases we bring. Mike Cornell from the Levin group will give an all-day talk on case presentation. And if that wasn’t enough to convince you to attend this outstanding meeting, you can also have breakfast with Dr Charles Young and learn about TADs as you chow down. Block out those dates of October 29-30 and prepare for some great encounters, both with our course presenters and your fellow Tip-Edgers. See you there. Take care, Tom Jacobsen, DDS 2010 Dental Assistant's Course Held in Dallas The Academy held its 2010 Dental Assistant's Course with instructor Charles Young, D.D.S. in Dallas, Texas on July 29 -August 1.
