he American Orthodontic Soci-ety concluded another successful Annual Meeting this October with a well-attended event at the historic Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee! Clinical speakers included Dr. Juan Echeverri, Dr. Howard Farran, Dr. Jay Gerber, Dr. Gaby Bahri, and Dr. David Jackson. Our Foundation’s free lecture series was extremely popular this year, being ably led by Dr. Steve Galella and Dr. Bill Wyatt. Dr. Wyatt also enjoyed Honorary Duck Master status while at the Peabody! Speaking of the AOS Foundation, our annual silent auction again raised close to $10,000. We are grateful to all who donated and all who bid! Commendations are in order for 26 members who were credentialed this year: 15 in Achievement, nine Board-eligible and two new Diplomates. Table Clinic of the Year went to Dr. Randy Newby and his assistant, Kay Kissick, CDA for “A Potpourri of Uses of TAD’s T in Orthodontics.” Second and Third Place went to Dr. Milan Simanek with a clinic on “Non-Surgical Correction of A Severe Class III Open Bite in the Late Adolescent” and to Dr. Charles Kirksey with “Surgical Exposure and Ligation of an Horizontally Impacted Maxillary Canine in the Early Adolescent.” Case of the Year was awarded jointly to Dr. Randy Newby and Dr. Charles Kirksey. We appreciate them sharing their outstanding orthodontic work. Finally, we congratulate our newest Board members, Dr. Kevin Hester and Dr. Twana Farley-Duncan, as well as our new Vice-President, Dr. David Thorfinn-son, all of whom were elected by those AOS members present at our annual general membership meeting, held Saturday afternoon. We are currently busy getting our “ducks in a row” for next year’s joint Annual Meeting with the Academy of Gp Orthodontics. The place is Chicago on August 15–18, 2013. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
