ORTHO BITES Fig. 10 Fig. 13 Fig. 11 Fig. 14 Fig. 12 Fig. 15 Fig. 16 I also stressed to the parents to continue the tongue training exercises. And I instructed the patient to wear one medium (4.5 oz) Class III elastic per side. I continued this treatment sequence: retracting the lower incisors, re-posturing the lower arch and encouraging upper growth of the maxilla with the Class III elastics. I took final records in February 2010 (Fig 10-14). The patient upon completion ended with an ANB of +1 degree and a WITTS of -4mm. His GoGn remained relatively unchanged. Dentally, he still presented a Class III. His interincisal angle decreased from 140 to 134 degrees. I informed the parents he may continue to grow in a skeletal/dental Class III pattern, and Phase II was probable. The parents were very pleased with the results. I placed a lower Fixed Removable Lingual Holding Arch (Ortho Organizers) and instructed the parents to bring him in every six months for a cleaning and phase II ortho check. 32 November/December 2010 JAOS
