On Thursday night, enjoy the opening night reception in our Exhibit Hall, where you can begin the week’s activities renewing acquaintances. Friday starts with getting your hands dirty at Wired and Fired, a red hot creative outlet! Choose a piece of pottery -a whimsical bowl for your pet, a mug for your morning java, a plate or other useful item -paint it and have it glazed and fired to take home and use. Then, clean up and walk across the street to enjoy your mid-day meal at Murphy’s, an Atlanta landmark. After lunch, it’s off to one of Atlanta’s most recog-nizable businesses, CNN, for an insightful afternoon tour of their headquarters. Join your colleagues Friday night for an evening of camaraderie and creative cuisine at Aja, one of the city’s most popular eateries. (Don’t forget to rub the big brass Buddha’s belly!) Saturday is a great time to strike out on your own and tour the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, High Museum of Art or satisfy your consumer gene at the shops of Lenox Square or Phipps Plaza. But be back in time for our Annual Awards Dinner (included in your registration fee), recognizing the accomplishments of our outstand-ing members. Last year’s was moving and highly memorable! But, the real focus of our annual meeting is, of course, education, and this year we’ve designed a jam-packed educational program for you, with over 31 hours of continu-ing education credits available! Scheduled lecturers include: Dr. Brian Allman on snoring and sleep apnea as it applies to dentistry, Dr. Juan Echeverri, speaking in depth on TAD’s, Mr. Paul Gange offering the “Complete Course on Bonding Orthodontic Appliances”, Dr. Chris Kesling lecturing about Straight-Edge Plus, Dr. Leon Klempner on the benefits of early orthodontic intervention, Dr. Tim Shaughnessy, offering “Interdisciplinary Orthodontic Treatment”, Dr. Juha Varrela and Dr. Sirkku Laaksonen on the use of “Multi-P”, Dr. Arnie Weiss lecturing on enhancing professional and personal lives, and Dr. Bill Wyatt discussing the wide range of Class III malocclusions. There are outstanding classes available for assistants, as well, led by Mrs. Jane Johnson, who has been lecturing, consulting, training in-office and conducting orthodon-tic assistant seminars for over 30 years, and Dr. Elsa Echeverri, an international speaker who is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the AOS. And for the FREE Foundation Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday, we have Dr. Jim Prittinen, who will speak on “Troubleshooting in Everyday Orthodontics” and Dr. Lori Trost discussing “Minor Tooth Movement In-Office”.
