The Power of Sharing, Lear By Kimberly Price, Administrator, AOS connect The American Orthodontic Society launched AOSconnect as a free benefit of your AOS membership. Read on to find out why AOSconnect is important for you as an AOS member and dental practitioner. C ontinual advancements in technology have changed our lives and the way we conduct our business and personal lives in so many positive and profound ways. With the recent professional and social media explosion in mind, these advancements are more important than ever for organizations such as the American Orthodontic Soci-ety (AOS). Associations, in particular, have an opportu-nity to become increasingly relevant by empowering their members in ways not previously possible. It is critical for the AOS to offer you, our members, access to meaningful and relevant content and oppor-tunities for collaboration and mentoring. We are excited about our partnership with NFi Studios to bring the latest and greatest in technology to you. Through the AOS website, www.orthodontics.com, or by bookmarking aosconnect.orthodontics.com in your favorite web browser, you’ll easily access the new commu-nity platform and have the opportunity to unite with your friends and peers, discuss clinical questions and topics of interest with our instructors and members and learn from others in a setting that is private, is exclusive, and has been created specifically with you in mind. AOS connect features member and company profiles, collaborative groups and discussion topics, groups covering a wide range of topics for your practice, groups for sharing and asking questions and presenting cases, as well as private forums for member students of our senior instructors…Dr. David Jackson, Dr. Chris Baker, Dr. William Wyatt, Dr. Leonard Carapezza, Dr. Joe Schmidbauer and Dr. Edward Gonzalez. These forums for students have already started to develop excellent content that will assist you in current and future orthodontic cases. The community also features a wealth of downloadable resources that can be adapted to your own practice needs. These resources are not available outside of the AOS connect community. Though we’ve just launched to the full AOS membership, many members are already 44 March/April 2011 JAOS
