For more information, please visit www.ultradent.com/pressroom.php More Women Dental Practitioners Dr. Marlene Ostby, 34, is the only practicing female orthodontist in the state of Montana. She and her husband, Dr. Adam Ostby, who is also an orthodontist, opened Ostby Orthodontics Inc. the first of May. There are 29 orthodontists practic-ing in Montana. In recent years, the number of women in dentistry and dental specialties, including orthodontics, has increased dramatically. About 17 percent of active, practicing U.S. members of the American Association of Orthodontists are women, according to the association.
