ORTHO BITES Fig. 22 show before and after comparisons of the anterior teeth, the facial smile and the patient’s profile. I alluded to the fact that there would be compromise from the beginning. The patient at the end of treatment had a closed interincisal angle of 124 degrees and was still a skeletal Class III with an ANB of -4 degrees and a WITS of -5mm and her GoGn and Y-axis remained rela-tively unchanged. Her anterior teeth appeared shorten due to the flaring of the centrals and laterals, however, were not, and were clinically acceptable. The parents and the patient were very pleased (as was I) with the final results (Fig. 28). Fig. 26 In February 2011, I removed the anterior brackets and sectionals, took all final record, and delivered the upper QCM retainer and a lower bonded .032 retainer wire from lower cuspid to lower cuspid (Figs. 21 – 23). In April, I performed a post orthodontic check and all looked good (Fig. 24). Our final photos (Figs. 25 – 27) Fig. 23 Fig. 27 Fig. 28 Fig. 24 Fig. 25 22 July/August 2011 JAOS
