T hank you to everyone who attended the 2023 American Orthodontic Society’s 49th Annual Meeting in Greenville, SC on October 19-21. The AOS had a fantastic event at the Hyatt Regency Greenville with over 100 dental industry professionals and 15 AOS Diplo-mates in attendance. Highlights of the annual meeting included 15 speakers that presented in 15 sessions on a wide range of topics including emerging research, advanced orthodontic techniques, and business workshops. Dr. Susan Tiede was welcomed as the new AOS Board President, and Dr. David Thorfinnson was announced as the next AOS Diplomates President. "Great teachers, great mentors. I am so thankful for The AOS! I wish EVERY dental student would take at least the beginning level class. Dr. Williams is a great, patient teacher. We GP’s don’t need to be in the dark when it comes to orthodon-tics. A healthy alignment of the teeth is crucial for long term health. Straight teeth just happen to look pretty… yet straight, aligned and balanced occlusion is the lifelong key to not only heart health, but allows eliminating of gum disease and improves brain health," said one AOS member. In addition to the education and networking during the annual meet-ing, the AOS Event Center support-ers were recognized for their contri-butions. The AOS will have a full list of supporters along with their support level featured in an upcom-ing issue announcing the official opening of the new event center.
