AOS MEMBERSHIP NEWS The Future is Bright: AOS Expands Education and Scope Brian D. Vierthaler, DDS AOS President Dear AOS Members, I cannot believe how fast the year of my presidency has gone! I consider myself truly blessed to be able to serve for an organization that has given me so much. It has been an extremely busy year for the board members of the American Orthodontic Society. I can say with confidence that the AOS board members this year have dedicated more time to this organization than any members of the past. I wanted to thank them all for attending all of the meetings and having the strength to make some difficult decisions for the benefit of our organization. It is impossible for me to explain to you how excited I am for the future of the AOS. We are adding new courses, adding some new instructors, and for the first time in our history, we are going to be offering a virtual course next year. PLEASE check our website for updates on next year’s course offerings. The goal is to make available the latest and most up-to-date orthodontic education possible. Another exciting development is that the board of directors is finalizing plans to have our own education institute in Dallas, TX. Being able to control not only what we teach, but also HOW we teach is going to be invaluable to our members. The AOS annual meeting held in Atlanta, GA in October was an outstanding success. It was fantastic to see a lot of old and new faces, and to be able to connect with members on a personal level. I want to thank our lecturers for an OUTSTANDING delivery of education. I also want to thank our support team for making our meeting topnotch. The board of directors has already been busy working on finalizing the speakers for our next annual meeting in Greenville, SC. Some major changes are coming to the annual meeting in 2023, so keep an eye out as we begin to unveil next year. Again, THANK YOU to all members of the AOS who trusted me leading the amazing organization! Brian D. Vierthaler, DDS Get more information about all AOS events at www.orthodon-tics.com!
