AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Ortho Education Is A Continuous Process Joe Fallin, DDS AGpO President With the start of fall and our annual meeting in Oklahoma City this past September, I completed my term as your AGpO President. At our annual meeting, I had the honor of handing over the reins of our group to your new president Dr. Scott Earp. Scott will be taking us in to 2020 with the Academy looking at an ever-brighter future. It’s been a great year; we have seen extensive growth over the last twelve months. Seven hands-on courses began during this past year of my term. These included courses in Texas, New York, Illi-nois, Arizona and North Carolina. In all, there are over 16 hands-on courses currently in session throughout the US and Canada. Remember that your orthodontic education is a continuous process. That is why the AGpO annual meetings, like the exceptional one we just completed in Oklahoma City, are so important. During our weekend in Oklahoma, we heard an outstanding presentation from our own Dr. Ron Austin on cases with a twist and 100 of his Tip Edge Tips. These pearls from Ron were something that you could take back to your practice to use immediately on Monday morning. Dr. Ricardo Medellin Fuentes lectured on using the Pre-Finisher with Tip-Edge finishing and a preview of the new SL self-ligating bracket from TP Orthodontics. And, Dr. James Jasper, who is the inventor of the Jasper Jumper, spoke on the next generation Vector-Pro Appliance. It is always important to stay up-to-date on new devel-opments and appliances in our industry -our speakers and exhibitors did just that at this year's meeting show-ing us what is new and cutting edge in orthodontics. In addition, our annual meeting was a special place to be able to catch up with some of the greatest clinicians and colleagues around. I enjoyed meeting with and speaking with so many wonderful members. Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your president. I hope you all make it a point to attend next year’s meeting in Austin, TX on September 24-26, 2020. Joe Fallin, DDS Two-Year Course Graduates 11 Doctors This past summer, 11 dentists completed their 12-session, two-year comprehensive and hands-on course taught by Dr. Robert Allen at his office in Rockwall, TX. Jaya Doshi, DMD (not pictured) and Rama Miyapuram, DMD, as well as all other attending doctors earned a minimum 150 CDE hours in orthodontics and related topics. Congratulations to nine of the doctors who achieved the Associate Fellowship Level of the Academy of Gp Orthodontics Tier Advancement Program. These included Kyle Weedon, DDS (not pictured); Hank Chang, DDS; Dinh Nguyen, DDS (not pictured); Nancy Snyder, DMD (not pictured); Shinyoung Yang, DMD; Travis Rottman, DDS; Suman Nalla, DMD; Christopher Patterson, DDS (not pictured); Ladipo Omowumi, DDS.
