AGpO MEMBERSHIP NEWS Together, We Are Stronger 2017 has been a great year for the AGpO. Boasting a growing membership and new classes starting regularly, I feel blessed to serve in a time when things are going so well for this organization. After speaking with the past and current president of both the IAO and the AOS, I was very encouraged with the possibility of all three organiza-tions collaborating for a huge knockout meeting. We must think of ways to contribute to the collective knowledge we have learned. First there was Angle, then Begg, the Keslings, and the future is up to you. We must write the next chapter; it is our responsibility to improve, refine and share the gift we have been entrusted with. We are stronger together, as each one of us has a different aptitude for orthodontics. We are all at different experience levels, but one thing we can all do is share. When we share, not only does the person we Sherman John Menser, DDS share with benefit, but we also AGpO President benefit. It is not enough to just pass the torch, but we must also make it brighter with every pass. We can’t wait for someone else to solve the problem in the future. The Academy of Gp Orthodontics is not only the past of Tip-Edge orthodontics but also the future. Ask yourself, what are some of the problems you run into and then fix the problem. The history of orthodontic innovation has grown and developed over many years from students of the craft just like you. Don’t be afraid to let this technique evolve into something new, scientifically evaluate your results, then share them with colleagues and it may just be what someone needs. Constant research, testing and sharing is what has made ortho great. By participating with AOS, IAO and other orthodon-tic organizations, it makes us and the orthodontic profession stronger, as well as the synergy provided by sharing between organizations. I would like to thank all of you for a wonderful year.
